Dixie Chicken

I don’t deserve Lola. Lola deserves much, much better than the likes of me - I am nothing but a profane, drunken, short-tempered, lust-filled, undersexed, opinionated, deviant. Lola is nothing like that.

Lola is a perfect Gerber daisy in sweet fragant meadows of dawn and dew, with the innocence of children in human form, the beauty and splendor of a night in July. Lola is exquisite, with taste and grace and honor.

I love my Lola, as we all love Lola. This last week has made us all remember how much we enjoy coming over to her house to play. Especially when you realize how much you hate that one babysitter who smells like Kitty Witty’s sand box who doesn’t heat up your Noodleroni all the way and wants to watch nothing but The Wheel.

But, I hope that this week away has brought her some time to think and reflect and plan and even dream.

The closing of a door will open new ones. While the road ahead may be difficult, at times, Lola you know you have the strength and courage to make it through this next challenge as you have so many times in the past.

I know you will make the best of it, sharing the good parts with us using your endless wit and brutal honesty.

As always, Cupcake, TMC and the rest of these kids on your playground are going to be right behind you all the way.
